Who we are

• Sussex Clubs for Young People (SCYP) is the independent voice for the voluntary youth sector across Sussex. A diverse network of over 210 local statutory, voluntary and community youth organisations. SCYP has been working since 1939 to provide support, help, advice and guidance, raise the profile of youth work, share good practice and provide an activity development programme that has a real impact on young people and the organisations that support them.
• SCYP plays a major role in the provision of key services to the voluntary community youth service across the Sussex Region. From its central support office in Shoreham by Sea it runs a very successful activities development programme. SCYP also provides a comprehensive club support package for organisations ranging from large inner city multi-use youth centres to small single night clubs; nurturing new and potential clubs and providing information on the latest thinking in youth work to practical support such as competitive insurance and advice. The organisation has a long history of providing quality youth work programmes for young people.
• SCYP will work to ensure the development and recognition of a vibrant, and challenging, voluntary and community youth sector which involves, empowers and meets the needs of all young people in Sussex.
